Below is quick step by step guide to resolve it.
1- Login to Bing Maps portal at https://www.bingmapsportal.com/
(In case if you don't have any ID, you can create Bing Maps Account)
2- Go to My Account then My Keys
3- Select "Create a new key"
4- Fill the following information
- Application name: Required. The name of the application.
- Application URL: The URL of the application. This is an optional field which is usefull in helping you remember the purpose of that key in the future.
- Key type: Required. Select the key type that you want to create. You can find descriptions of key and application types here.
- Application type: Required. Select the application type that best represents the application that will use this key.
5- Click on Create button & it will generate a key for you which can be used in your Mapinfo 16.0.
To insert this key in Mapinfo 16.0 Pro. Follow below steps
Open Mapinfo 16.0 PRO then,
1- Go to PRO on top of left corner
2- Select "Licensing" on left pane
3- Scroll down to Bing License Key option
4- Insert key & click on OK
That's all now you are ready to enjoy Base maps of Map Info.
